What to know about AirPods 5

AirPods 5 are Apple's open-ear earbuds, announced in September 2026: no silicone tips, they simply rest in your ear. The link on this page goes to the AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case, the step-up of the two models.

The headline change is Active Noise Cancellation on both models. Apple says AirPods 5 remove up to 50% more noise than AirPods 4 with ANC, thanks to a new multiport acoustic design. You also get Transparency mode, Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness, Personalized Spatial Audio and Live Translation.

Apple rates this model at up to 5 hours of listening with ANC on (7 hours with noise control off) and up to 22 hours with the case. The case charges over USB‑C, on a Qi-certified charger or an Apple Watch charger, and has a built-in speaker for Find My. The earbuds are IP57 dust, sweat and water resistant and weigh 4.3 g each.
